Marine Superintendent (Dry bulk)

• Proactively identify areas of risk to ensure that brand and reputation is maintained.
• In the capacity of Deputy Company Security Officer (DCSO) provide our vessels and shore teams with timely information and updates regarding developing security situations around the world. Support the CSO, our vessels and Shore Teams in all matters concerning security in accordance with the ISPS Code.
• Providing ships and Technical Superintendent with timely advice, Review on Risk assessments, permit to work, support on Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality matters.
• Chair office HSEQ meetings participate in Risk Review meetings and provide advice/support to the office HSE committee.
• Visit vessels to determine whether HSEQ standards are being maintained and to interact with the seafarers.
• Track internal alcohol tests and initiate external D&A tests as necessary.
• Being the Deputy Designated Person Ashore (DPA) for all the flag ships operated by PCL.
• Monitor and analyse trends of HSEQ and operational data for ships.
• Develop and provide performance reports to Internal and external customers.
• To be responsible for tracking and arranging Flag State and USCG Inspections.
• To monitor vessel voyage progress and ensure voyage requirements are fulfilled.
• To undertake incident investigations as required

• Audits/Inspections & Incident Investigation
• Carry out internal office and shipboard audits, where required.
• Be the centre of expertise for incident investigations.
• Track internal and external audit due dates. Work with shore team to arrange Class attendance for arranging Audits.
• Ensure effective closure of audit findings and incidents, and inspection deficiencies related to HSEQ, through appropriate corrective and preventive actions and approve close out of incidents and audit corrective actions.
• Act as the centre of expertise and focal point of support during external regulatory and customer audits (e.g. external ISM, ISO audits, etc.)
