The Held family is an old family of sailors from Haren, germany. The roots go back to the 18th century in shipping.
In the 1970s, the father, Laurenz Held, founded the first shipping companies with two other Haren captains, which commissioned the new ships “MS Emstal”, “MS Rheintal” and “MS Isartal” in the 1990s.
