The shipping company was founded in 1997 and has been operating under the name Nimmrich & Prahm Reederei since 1998, based in Leer / Ostfriesland.
In the beginning it was a used Kümo, in the following years the company expanded by buying and selling used multi-purpose and container ships of the size 2500-10000tdw. In 2004 a series of a total of 8 newbuildings from Bulgaria began until 2008, in 2009 the fleet was supplemented by another multipurpose ship from Poland.
