Swiss Tanker Management (S.T.M) started 2009 on a high note by acquiring five more tankers for commercial management from Koggi Shipping Inc, a part of M.R.S. Group making a total of 12 tankers now under management. Since Swiss Tanker Management was created 7th February 2007 it has managed 16 tankers ranging from 4,571 DDWT to 105,902 DDWT to date and strives to expand its operations further.

Amongst them is Ovlas Trading SA which was incorporated in October 2003 as the overseas trading arm of the Group. Ovlas manages the trading and supply activities of the Group, has established itself as a major exporter of Nigerian Naphtha, Fuel Oil, Crude Oil and also as a major importer of CPP products to the Nigerian market. The company is also very active on regulated and non regulated derivative markets. Ovlas has a large prime Supplier and Customer base mostly made of State companies, Major Oil Companies and large Trading houses.
Koggi shipping was established in 2005 as the chartering branch of Ovlas Trading and M.R.S Oil and Gas (M.R.S GROUP of companies). The fast-growing West African market, combined with the growth of their trading branches demanded a strong and professional shipping arm able to handle all aspects of up and down stream activities of the Group. With an average of 30 tankers chartered spot per year and an increasing time chartered fleet ranging from 5000 to 60,000 DWT Koggi has acquired a firm and knowledgeable presence in the Tanker Market, chartering all major owners who have recognised Koggi to be a reliable Customer, and most probably one of the best demurrage payers in this market, which for an owner is an extra added value. Through a network of international and reliable shipbrokers Koggi is constantly scanning markets to ensure competitive edge and quality ships, which allows their trading branch to expand its activities in other areas such as NWE, Mediterranean, USA.
Koggi shipping has also proudly become the commercial operator of FSU’s (Floating Storage Units) “Westaf”, “Greataf”. These FSU’s are permanently operating in West Africa giving an extra offshore storage capacity of 420,000 m3. MT Westaf also allows blending of fuel oil as options for fuel and white products, having a high tech laboratory onboard allows analysis of complete range of Fuel oil, Gasoil and Gasoline.
