About Us

CJ Lang & Son Ltd is the wholesaler for SPAR Scotland, the largest symbol group in Scotland with over 300 convenience stores across the country.

Based in Dundee, we’re a family owned business proud to serve communities and have a distribution network covering countryside to coast backed by outstanding operational organisation.

Charles J Lang founded the business in 1919 after starting his career working at his uncle’s grocery store in St. Andrews. In 1993, CJ Lang acquired the SPAR franchise for the remainder of Scotland and became the country’s official SPAR wholesaler.

Today, CJ Lang has over 300 stores across the country, an onsite distribution centre with a fleet of 55 vehicles and employs 1,800 people.
