Crosby Tugs, LLC was founded in 1977 by Vinton and Kurt Crosby when it acquired the first vessel the Paddy Crosby. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest privately owned marine transportation businesses in the marine industry. The company continues to grow with acquisitions and new builds.
Some of our major acquisitions through the years are:
September 1994 – Acquired inland tugs from M & W Marine.
October 1998 — Purchased inland push boats and two pressure barges along with mid sized tugs Harvey Gulf International
August 1999 — Purchased offshore vessels from Montco.
August 2006 — Acquired offshore domestic towing vessels from Tidewater Marine.
February 2010 — Purchased offshore tugs from Harvey Gulf and Dolphin Towing.
September 2010 — Acquired tugs from Double Eagle Marine.
May 14, 2011 – Crosby Tugs purchased the physical assets of Delta Towing along with the rights to use the Delta Towing name. With this purchase, Crosby Tugs continues to diversify its fleet in order to better serve the marine industry
November 21, 2013 – Purchased all tugs from Belle Pass Towing.
January 28, 2014 – Acquired all tugs from Odyssea Marine Inc.
