About Us

The GENNARO srl operates in the Ship Repair district of the port of Genoa for over 70 years with the aim of serving the world of shipping in a timely, reliable, professional and above all complete.

The company was founded in 1933 to meet the needs of shipbuilding and ship repair yards that were interested in new construction systems. In fact, it was passing from the nailing and riveting of the hull sheets to electric welding with electrode. The activity of the time was therefore the repair and maintenance of these innovative electrical machinery. Always in step with technology, over the years GENNARO has developed by expanding its market into new sectors always linked to the world of electricity: rewinding of electric motors in alternating current or direct current, low voltage or medium voltage , electrical and electronic systems, restoration of transformers, inverters and converters.

The activity today covers numerous needs of ship repair:

Electrical workshop: The historic workshop updated with cutting-edge machinery and high-tech equipment in order to best meet the needs of the naval market. High precision electronic balancers, also portable computerized for on-site operations. Vibrometers for vibration and wear analysis. Gaussometers for measuring magnetic fields. Hydraulically braked test bench. 18 cubic meter drying oven. Pit for dip painting.
Mechanical workshop: The consolidated experience to satisfy the most varied needs of naval mechanical repair respecting the provisions of the manufacturers. Reconditioning of piston heads, cylinder covers, shutters, valve seats and related accessories. Maintenance of main engines or diesel engines in the workshop or on site. Grinding and boring in place. Spare parts replacement and spare parts supply.
Galvanic: The most recent department created by GENNARO in the field of galvanic restorations and rectifications with galvanic baths able to satisfy all the needs of the sector: hard chrome coatings capable of extending the life of any industrial component.
