About Us

W & R Shipping BV was founded February 2005, the result of a cooperation in the shipping business between captain G.C. van Eck and Mr. R.A. Stornel, which dates from 1999. Captain Van Eck is the technical supervisor, whereas Mr. Stornel is assigned the in-office duties. Both their careers in shipping are longstanding, starting in 1969 for Mr. Stornel and in 1981 for captain Van Eck. W & R Shipping BV is specialized in management of multipurpose vessels. Proof of their competence is reflected in the successful exploitation of their own fleet of 7 multipurpose vessels. The office, from which the management , administration, ordering, crew evaluation, contacts with the Shipping Inspectorate, Class Societies, Royal Association of Netherlands Ship-owners and other branch organizations are being carried out, is located at Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands.  ISM & ISPS certification and related items are handled by Sam Shipping vof at Papendrecht. Aside management, W &R Shipping BV also has hands-on experience and expertise in new builds of multipurpose vessels in China, in part on commission. With the delivery of last 2 vessels in 2013, the fleet now consists of 5 vessels with full tween deck, which panels can also be used for cargo separation in the hold, as well as 2 multi-purpose vessels.
